The Hotel-Tourism-Catering Union of Athens held a protest on Thursday June 7 against the layoff of a young unionist who worked in AUTOGRILL Café in Athens Airport. Autogrill is an Italian multinational with more than 3000 restaurants and cafes all over the world. The layoff came after the participation of the unionist in the May 1st strike and his call to the workers to participate in the General Strike of May 30. PAME condemns the murder of migrant worker Soumaila Sacko, a member of the USB Italy trade union organization that was shot Sunday night on June 3. Soumaila Sacko was a USB fighter at the forefront of the struggles for the rights of over 4,000 migrant workers in the Calabria fields.
